Ybbs-Persenbeug is Austria’s oldest and fourth-strongest power station along the Danube. In the 2013 season the power station was equipped with a brand-new exhibition.
Come and visit our destination and dip into the fascinating world of electricity generation from hydropower!
The guided tour through the power station familiarises you with the Danube in general, the different components of a power station, its architectural history, the turbines and the current modernization taking place at the Ybbs-Persenbeug location. With the help of models, short film clips and interactive stations people can gain insights into the functions of the individual parts and the electricity generation from hydropower.
Afterwards people can take part in a guided tour to the lock, where they get information about the navigation along the Danube and the locking of ships.
